CHS Food & Wine – February 28 – March 4
The CHS Food & Wine Festival was founded by local culinary enthusiasts who wanted to create an experience that would celebrate Charleston’s rich, local flavor through the eyes of award-winning chefs, beverage professionals, and artisans. Since that idea was hatched 13 years ago, the festival has grown into a world-class experience with a culinary village, signature events, divine dinners, beverage workshops, brunches & lunches, excursions, hands-on classes, and much more. If you want to indulge your inner foodie and experience the very best Charleston has to offer, this festival is for you!
Charleston Fashion Week – March 13 – 17
Did you know that Charleston is also known for emerging fashion designers and modeling talent? With posh boutiques galore calling the Holy City home, a Charleston Fashion Week makes perfect sense. Since its founding in 2007, this soiree has become one of the premier fashion events in the nation. Housed under tents in Marion Square, collections from nationally renowned designer runway shows, glamourous on-site and citywide activities, shopping, and chic-after parties are enjoyed from sun up to sun down.
Spoleto Festival – May 25 – June 10
Charleston was selected for this event due to its similarities to Spoleto, Italy for this performing arts festival that encompasses art, cuisine, and culture. If you can’t make it to Italy, why not give the US Spoleto a try? Opera, theater, physical theater, dance, music, jazz, special events, and artist talks are all a special part of this festival. With venues such as Charleston Gaillard Center, the Catedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul, the Charleston Library Society, City Hall, the College of Charleston Cistern Yard, the Dock Street Theatre, Middleton Place, and Woolfe Street Playhouse, every event is a full-on sensory experience that plunges you into a world of absolute beauty!
